March was going to be a robin, but two things happened: one, the baby chicks arrived at our local grange and the children are wild about them. And two, I kept remembering these chicks in kerchiefs cupcake toppers I encountered once on Amy Karol's fabulous blog.
So just like the bunnies this year nestling into their sweet tattoos, the chickies are bustin' out the kitschy kerchiefs. Polka dotted of course.
Chick going the other way.
And now (drumroll please)...ANNOUNCING....
THE "CHICK IN KERCHIEF" BEAD DISH GIVEAWAY!
If you make a comment on this post between now and, say, midnight PT Saturday, March 20th, I will then use a random number generator (probably Gus) and send one of you lucky readers a chick bead dish for free!
(I know there are only about three of you readers, what the heck...let's just be wild and crazy.)
If you're stumped as what to say, just tell me what you think about chicks. Should they be wearing something else? Should they be saying something? Do they remind you of the hummels your grandma used to collect?
Okay, I hope you are doing well and that the spring days are lightening your heart!

Sorry, I read your blog almost daily and have enjoyed your daily thoughts and pictures. You have the glazing process down. What is the success rate of your firings. LEA

Okay. I love the chick. I think you have just started a new theme. Now it's time for "two chicks" (perfect gift for lesbian weddings) and "cool chick" (chick with sunglasses or chick on a skateboard).Or maybe a hippie chick (peace symbol on bandana). What would an Ashland chick look like? How about a pregnant chick? I guess chicks don't get pregnant.

OK Julia, I've made a greater commitment to our relationship by becoming an official follower of "Was I There?" This way I'll get to have some humor in my day whether I see you or not. That chick Julia always has a funny tale to tell!

AAARGH! I missed the deadline by ONE day! And the chick has a new home. Alas! This is a good lesson for me not to miss one whole week of Julia's postings, for you my darling, have been a busy chickadee! The new carte postales look amazing by the way. I think I should be an honorary pisces having attending no fewer than 7 birthday parties in the past 7 days. Yours among them! Loved celebrating you. xo my friend, e
